This was a fun group to start the day with! They are from southern Ohio. Devin is a farmer, and the kids all show his cows in fairs. As a reward, he takes them on trips. This year they came to Kalamazoo to take a knife making class at the forge, and then they're on to the Air Zoo. They were a fantastic group of kids! And they all made great knives! Really fun morning with all of them!

Alex and his father Paul were back this morning to continue working on their damascus. Alex got all the folds done and then drilled in the marks for raindrop damascus. Paul has a much bigger billet because he's making a cleaver. He got the folds done and will drill his raindrop pattern next time. The both will shape their blades.

Vince and his daughter were back today. Vince got all the hammering done on his Damascus Ulu, and got the bulk of the grinding done too! We did a "motivational dip" in the acid. Oh, it's going to be beautiful! His daughter forged a gorgeous scary cheese knife as a gift to her mom. It is beautiful, and super sharp!
