Brandon and Maghan were back today to start their first Damascus knives! They did such a good job. We got 9 layers forge welded and the first fold done, for 18 layers so far. Much of it they hammered by hand, using Mr. Squishy as "insurnace".

Kevin was in today to finish his Rambo-inspired Apocalypse Knife! This is a fun one! The blade is the edge of a saw blade. The handle is a pipe! There's a hidden tang, bit enough space for some survival gear. It's been welded on, and the red end cap is temporary until he gets a real cap. Very creative idea!

For his next knife, we are going to try to use steel from the Mackinac Bridge! It's currently soaking in Evapo-rust, and will be carefully cleaned. Should be a fun experiment!

Amazing morning with the 11-13 yr old Level 2 homeschoolers! Everyone was at different spots in the process. Two of them were able to finish their short swords. Both are about 22 inches in total length, with steel guards. They're beautiful swords! The other two are almost done. One is doing a copper guard, while the other is doing brass. They will both finish next time.
