Blacksmithing for Homeschoolers

Level 1: Blacksmithing for Homeschoolers

Students will start forging from the beginning, with learning tapers, twists, and shaping. We will make various hooks, snakes, bottle openers, before learning how to weld, and eventually learn the basic of bladesmithing by making a Railroad Spike Knife and a Scary Cheese Knife.

Cost is $100 per month per person. Payment is done at each class.

Classes are divided in 2 groups: 11-13 year olds, and 14-17 year olds. Classes are held once a month.  You do need to sign up for each month separately. It's just the way our scheduling system works. So please make sure to sign up each month September-May.

We supply eye and ear protection, as well as gloves. Recommended dress code for all classes as follows: leather shoes or boots, jeans, t-shirt, a work shirt, and something to tie hair up if necessary. Socks that cover the ankle are encouraged. No open toe shoes or shorts. Bring lots of water because it does get a little warm!
