September 28
George and Becky were back this morning to make Steel Flowers! They both picked roses and did a great job plasma cutting them out, shaping, and welding it all together. George turned his copper while Becky went with the torch finish. They are beautiful and look great together!
September 30
Rachel brought her father, David, to the forge today to make Railroad Spike Knives as part of his Christmas gift (of last year). He a big knife enthusiast, but this was his first time forging one himself. They both did great! Beautiful knives!

Great class tonight with Scott and his son, Conner. Scott made a scary cheese knife (aka traditional blacksmith handle knife), while Connor made a Railroad Spike Knife. Fun class, and great knives!

Kevin was back today! He's working on a beautiful as gift, so we don't want to show that yet. But in between, he hammered of a quick Kiradashi knife for his woodworking class! ...and i forgot to take a picture of it...

Awesome morning with Level 1 Homeschoolers! We added on to the skills they learned last month, tapering and pigtails. They finished their tapers in a fraction of the time as last time, plus learned how to do an upset, use the treadle hammer with punches and chisels, and free form shape steel. Great job! Next time, its leaves...

As the founder, and reigning Queen of the Guinea Pig Club, Breanna had to be the first one to try the pumpkins! Great to have her back in the forge! Like most regulars, she took the summer off too

Great start to the day with Shawn and his friend Travis, who both came from Ohio to make Railroad Spike Knives! Beautiful knives, and the perfect examples of long & stabby vs short & slicey.

All my regulars are coming back! Lucy and Kristi brought Lucy's parents today to do the basic welding class. Fun afternoon with them! And Lucy tried out the new design for steel flower vases I have in mind!

And rounding out the day, Joshua, his brother-in-law Adam, and nephew came from Goshen, IN, to make their first knives, Railroad Spike Knives. They did hammered a great shape in the blades, and left a beautiful textured finish. Very nice job!
