Week of October 19-25

October 19

So sometimes when the regulars are here and working on their projects, I forget to take photos. ;) That’s what happened with Scott. So here is a photo of him from the class before this one. I promise I’ll get photos next time!!

October 19

Joyce and Scott are back! Fun class today with them. Scott made a rebar snake, and Joyce (who is not a fan of snakes) made a dragon. Then they both made steel pumpkins!

October 22

Ryan is back! And brought his sister, Annalyse! Ryan wanted to learn welding today, so he made a very creative pencil holder. I love when people get creative with the pieces! Annalyse made a fantastic magic wand!

October 22

Adam and Kelsey were back tonight to finish their Billet Knives! Kelsey made a super sharp kitchen knife with a resin handle. Adam made a tanto. But what do you do when your tanto burns perfectly in half? You make 2! he did great pivoting and making a matching set!

October 23

Another great, busy class with Level 2! The older kids were in today, plus Judah from the younger group. Judah and Cruz finished up their Billet Knives. Then Judah started his damascus. Ellie and Ben started their damascus. Ben hammered for a solid 3 hours, getting the original 7 layer billet forge welded together, and then folded, welded and started shaping his blade. Ellie got her original 7 layers forge welded, then made a steel Venus Fly Trap flower!

October 24

Fun class with Tricia and Dan, and Rosie! They wanted one last fun thing to do while on vacation, so they came to the forge! Dan made a railroad spike knife, while Tricia made a steel flower. And Rosie watched it all, and even fell asleep at one point.

October 24

What a night! Some of my favorite faces, and lots of new faces in the forge, all to make Steel Pumpkins! A HUGE thank you to everyone who came today for our first ever mini class. Lots of fun, and lots of pumpkins! We will definitely do more of the mini classes, so watch for announcements!

October 25

Great class this morning with Sydney and her mom! Her mom had always wanted to learn to weld, so they made beautiful steel flowers!

October 25

Fun class with Jill and Larry! They both made really beautiful Railroad Spike knives! And thank you to Larry for modeling the winter hats that were just delivered!
