Week of March 29 - April 4

3/29/25

Great class with Dustin this morning! He grabbed one of the openings I had available during Art Hop. He did a fantastic job hammering the shape of the blade. Then he became a Guinea Pig Club member for the handle! This was fun! He did a twisted handle, but then he wanted finger grooves on the underside, but keep the twist on the topside. So I put a piece of wood on the treadle hammer so we wouldn't damage the twist. Lots of fun sparks and fire!

3/30/25

Great class with Bob this morning! He received a gift certificate from his kids. Safe to say, it was a good choice! He made a beautiful knife!

3/30/25

Great family from Chicago this afternoon. They made railroad spike knives to celebrate a birthday! There were some beautiful knives...and 1 "oops"

3/30/25

Oh my goodness, these three! What a way to end the day!! Amanda has been to the forge before. So when she and her friends were planning their Girl's Weekend, she wanted the forge to be part of the fun, along with the tshirts they pick for each other to wear! This class was just pure fun! And they made beautiful steel flowers too!

4/1/25

Fun class tonight with this group! Suzanne brought her friend and some of their kids to the forge. It's always fun to see how unique the knives are at the end.

4/2/25

Alexander was back tonight, and brought his older brother. They both started their first Damascus knives! Alex is doing an 18 layer damascus dagger. And Leonard is going for a 36 layer twisted Damascus Bowie knife. Tonight they made sticks and bricks.

4/3/25

Fun morning with the Level 1: 1-13 yr old homeschoolers! Today was magic wand day. They were very creative with their designs! And all their tapering practice this year has paid off because they finished these in no time!

4/3/25

Scott was back today! He is starting his first Damascus knife, a Kukri! He got all the forge welding and folds done today, so next time he will hammer out the shape and start grinding.
