August 17

What a privilege to have Evan in the forge one more time before going to college tomorrow! He does have classes already schedule for his school breaks though. He finished up the Tanto blade he started. Beautiful blade. Good luck at college Evan!! The entire Combat Ready Art community is behind you!

A couple of gorgeous billet knives were made this afternoon! They did a great job today!

Such a fun class with Keith! He was so excited to be in the forge. He made a fantastic Railroad Spike Knife!

Great family in the forge tonight! They all did a fantastic job making their first knives!

 

August 20

Damascus time! Andy was back to start his first damascus knife. Today was all about getting that important first forge weld done. He started with 9 layer, and got another fold done for a total of 18. One more fold next time, then on to shaping the knife.

Great class this afternoon with these 3! They did a great job. Their personalities are definitely reflected in their knives!

What a fun Stryker team! They came to the forge this afternoon to make their first knives, beautiful Railroad Spike Knives.

Great class with Kevin. He came from the Detroit area to make his first knife!

Really fun class with David and his son today! David used to work with Jon a couple of years--or decades--ago. They did a great job with the whole process. And gave me my first petoskey stone.
