December 10
Great class with this young squire! He was very focused and made a fantastic Railroad Spike Knife!
December 11
It was the older homeschoolers turn at bottle openers today! Nice job by all of them! And then they made their chopsticks too!
Doing the bottle openers teaches how to drift a hole, put the pip in, and then they have artistic choice for the handle. The challenge with the chopsticks is making a matching pair. Lots of good skills learned today!
December 11
Jason was back and brought his brother to make Scary Cheese Knives. They both made just beautiful knives!
December 12
What a fantastic group from TM Asphalt Sealing, LLC!! They came in to make Railroad Spike Knives for their yearly holiday temabuilding. They were just a great group of people, and they made beautiful knives!
*and they were so fun that I missed getting pics of a couple people. *
December 13
Kate and Landen were back and brought their siblings and sibling-in-law! Kate started her Kukri knife, and Landen is working on a Serbian Chefs knife. The other three made their first knives, beautiful Railroad Spike Knives!
December 13
More Mother/Son Knifemaking! It was great to have Lindsey and her son come to the forge today! They were so fun, and both made gorgeous knives.
Lindsey was one of the front desk people where Jon had PT/OT/Speech last year. She knew us from the forge before we came to rehab. During those months, she always smiled and greeted us as Jon and Jutta, blacksmiths, not as patients. It meant so much, but I never got to tell her until today. It really was wonderful to see her again.
